2nd March 2008 Skirmish This is the fox’s daughter signing in, just thought I would put my story across on our skirmish expedition…. Well after arriving, we had an orientation and were briefed on the different packs that were available. So from the start you could tell who wanted to play Rambo. An you guessed it, that’s the exact pack that the fox got. Scott Macleod, who wanted fox’s blood, decided to get the upgrade as he thought it would be an advantage. Denis another one who also wanted a bit of the silver fox, was so eager he left for skirmish at 5.00am. He must have wanted to set some traps and test out his “fast” shoes before anyone else got there..… After a 2 ½ hr drive, running out of fuel, 100m pushing his ute to the servo, $50 fuel bill later Denis arrived. You could feel the tension in the air, everyone was excited and rearing to go. Trent and Jonesy were still recovering from the night before, so the only tension they had was a couple of tension headaches. So yes of course you know who was gonna take advantage of that…yours truly. The first obstacle was actually, getting into our cameos… This was a lot harder than we thought.. Scotty who was trying to be one with nature decided to duck tape some small bushes with berries on his arms, and feet for extra camouflage… He was the first one to be called a tossa by the instructor, definitely would not be the last. The group then got halved and to my approval my brother and I were on opposite team…. It’s on!!!! Brett and Tom, my offsiders from work, were well and ready to woop some ass!! Game 1-2 highlights – Troy was the stand out for the first game, running through the enemy’s territory to secure the red flag. And win the game for the black team. There was more to come with the 2nd game as the red team had the territorial height advantage, and came down heavy on the black team with Scott Macleod punishing them with 500 paintballs. Game 3- 4 highlights – After releasing some tension in the bush AGB Trent. He was uplifted by some serious downloading, I hope there is no environmental damage that has come out of these deposits! Lol The silver fox and I combined powers and were unstoppable securing the red flag on the barrel. But be warned, there was a lesson to learn… when someone yells “go for it, I’ll cover you”. I will think twice before running into the line of fire with 20 paintballs being shot at you. Please refer to attached photos! In game 4 Jonesy thought he would power up and go for cannon that was positioned on his side, the silver fox aka sniper… had him pinned for the rest of the game. After he had finished with Jonesy he and his cannon, were like an orange popsicle. As the fox and I were walking to the next game I told him “my guns not firing dad,” after a quick look at it, he replied “its full of mud, you idiot!” note to self … while army crawling, lift your gun off the ground.. No wonder I couldn’t shoot after that. Scott Macleod, another 5-6 hundred paintballs… with no evidence of targets hit. Game 5-6 highlights – The aim of this particular game was to put the bomb in each team’s targeted area. After getting into our positions, this game became everyman for himself and there were paintballs flying everywhere. No bombs went anywhere near there targets. Game 7-8 highlights – This was the decider! Close contact, thick scrub and plenty of sniper action. King Sniper award goes to Marty Clark, blind siding the silver fox/rambo slamming 15 shots into the side of his head… And trust me there is evidence there. Please refer to pic attached. Being the last game and the only female playing I had to take charge… having learned to hold my gun up while army crawling I decided to put it into action and go after my brother… “Surrender!!!!! “, I yelled at him, after he asked troy who the F#*k was shooting at him. “you surrender!!” he replied.. peow peow!!! “Ahh, you shot me in the frickin head” I said… after sitting still and getting my vision back it was on. I shot about 30 paintball straight at his head.. Definite contact was about 5 welts in his head, that was now painted a nice shade of orange… Score was even!! After a nice cold beer, an average feed and a debrief we all made tracks and are ready for our next adventure.
