This weekend is the 3rd & 4th round of the National Thundercat Series.

Saturday is the Surf cross and Sunday is the Long haul.

Scrutineering

Racers that are not at the beach by 8:00 am on day 1 & 9:00am on day 2 will be

penalised 25% points for that day. Officials will not be chasing anyone.

Scrutineering will be held on the beach. There will be a trailer at the ramp for all

bags, fuel etc to go down to the beach via the surf club. When traveling through the

seaway it is 4 knots only until you reach open water. Please be very careful when

entering the beach area for swimmers and surfers as it is a long weekend.  Reminder

 - this is a professional sporting event. Media will be attending.

Consideration for surfers/public is essential.

Racers must remember all safety gear and $150 race fees for the weekend.

B Graders pay an entry fee of $40 for Saturday, If they participate on the Sunday

and be Safety boat for the long haul event, there will be no race entry fee for the

weekend. We encourage you to help the Brisbane Thundercats.

There is to be no fueling up on the beach as the permit does not allow us. Either have

2 fuel tanks for the day or in the short fuel breaks you can fill up at the club house.
The surf club will be having a BBQ on the beach during Saturday’s events so we

would like to encourage everyone to support the SLSC.

Offshore Safety Kits are compulsory. This includes: 2 x Orange Smoke &

2 x Red Hand Flares, V Sheet, Waterproof Torch, small air horn, spare set

of spark plugs and roll over tool kit.

Racing

Depending on conditions there will be Le Mans style starts and finishes. If the weather

is against us for the longhaul on Sunday there will be surf cross event held. The top 2

boats for the weekend will have there engines stripped down and checked. Fuel testing

will occur both days.

2 x 25ltr tanks will be required for the longhaul event. As usual there will be 1 compulsory

fuel stop.

B Graders will be also racing on the Saturday. There will be 2 A grade racers x 1

demonstrate event.

Other

If you are a social member or have a boat, come down and sit on the beach or lend a

hand staging boats marshalling and be part of a great weekend!
Lots of cafes just over the road from the surf club, ramp is at the end of the esplanade

and it's a top venue to for spectators!
