King of the Bay – Redcliffe, September 2008 Thanks again to the Offshore Power Boats and Paul Gibbs for the invite. Much to the crowd’s delight the course was set out from the Redcliffe Jetty and as the clock hit 11.00am the pace boat driven by Kev Tapp sent the 9 boats on their way – thanks Kev. Conditions were extremely testing compared to 2007 with 10 – 15 knots and .5m close chop, cutting the crews that finished the long haul to five with four DNF’s. Places were: 1st: Ducks Nuts: Anthony Wagner / Andrew Buster 2nd: Goodline Stainless: Grant Goodbuns / Greg Bence 3rd: H2go Plumbing: Adam Horvath / Tim Underwood 4th: Darren Grono / 5th: Scaredy Cat: Scott Kerrisk / Marty Clarke DNF: Graeme Farquher / Sam Morgan DNF: Scott Macleod / Dennis Johnson DNF: Lincoln Honeyman / Anthony Honeyman DNF: Jaimie Lee / Aaron Robinson Thanks to all the competitors and also to Neptune Marine’s Jon Miller for manning the 5.3m Fatboy Thundercat as a Safety Boat and to John Fox Kerrisk from Neptune Marine for Race Directing. We retired to the Moreton Bay Boat Club for lunch and drinks and a brief presentation. Many thanks to all for coming and we’ll make it bigger and better next year. News Article
